We're trying to find the right balance between hardcore and entertainment. Hardcore is delivered in roguelite form: i.e. permanent death. When your character dies, there's no checkpoint to return to, no save to start over, it's all over. Your character is dead and dead forever.

However, the legacy system in Virgin Lands 2 means that when you start a new adventure with a new hero, you can choose to continue playing in the same world. You start your journey over again, but this time you know more about the world and the challenges ahead. You know which areas to avoid and which areas you should definitely visit.
